Dog going to be put down need help saving it?

Our next door neighbours daughter earlier this year claimed that my brothers dogs bit her, the dogs were two rotwhilers moxed with shepards and 11 months old, the bite she claimed was a little red dot on her pinky, the peace officer took the dogs and put both of them down. The family has had a fued with ours and the daughter is a liar. They now our claiming my brothers new dog has bit her, is there anything we can do legally to stop them from taking the dogs?
